This demands in-depth knowledge of the mechanical operation of a vehicle and its electrical and electronic systems. Working as an auto electrician will become even more important in the future as the electronics in a motor vehicle become more advanced and technology develops. Over time motor vehicles are becoming less mechanical and more electronic.

To become an auto electrician, you might be well advised to do an apprenticeship, where you would gain technical certificates designed to give you the knowledge and skills you need and an NVQ/SVQ in Vehicle Maintenance and repair is available at levels 2 and 3 to prove your occupational competence. In addition you will also obtain your Key/Core Skills.
