As a fast-fit technician you will replace components in motor vehicles - usually while the customers are waiting.

Your main tasks will include:

• Inspecting / testing motor vehicle components
• Diagnosing faults
• Repairing and replacing faulty parts
• Installing new components
• Liaising with customers

To become a fast-fit technician, you might be well advised to do an apprenticeship, where you would gain technical certificates designed to give you the knowledge and skill you need and an NVQ / SVQ in Vehicle Fitting available at levels 1 and 2 to prove your occupational competence. In addition you will also get your Key or Core Skills.
