Vehicle Body Refinisher
As a vehicle body refinisher you make the vehicle as good as new and a career as a vehicle body refinisher could be right for you.
Your main tasks will include:
• Removing / covering parts not to be painted
• Identifying and fitting fissures
• Padding dents with special fillings
• Smoothing down vehicle surfaces
• Mixing colours to match the old paints
• Painting surfaces using spray equipment
• Sealing the surface
To become a Vehicle Body Refinisher, you might be well advised to do an apprenticeship, where you would gain technical certificates designed to give you the knowledge and skills you need. An NVQ/SVQ in Vehicle Body Repair and Refinishing is available at levels 2 and 3 to prove your occupational competence, in addition to your Key/Core Skills.
