Vehicle Body Repairer
Why not pursue a career as a vehicle body repairer? As a vehicle body repairer you return vehicles to a roadworthy condition.
Your main tasks will include:
• Estimating body damage
• Removing, repairing / replacing damaged body components
• Using welding and soldering equipment
• Deciding on repair techniques
• Cleaning and preparing metal surfaces for painting
You may also help vehicle body builders to build custom-designed vehicles.
To become a Vehicle Body Repairer, you might be well advised to do an apprenticeship, where you would gain technical certificates designed to give you the knowledge and skills you need. An NVQ/SVQ in Vehicle Body Repair and Refinishing is available at levels 2 and 3 to prove your occupational competence, in addition to your Key/Core Skills.
