Train to Gain - Vocational training programmes

In an industry with an estimated shortfall of 16,000 skilled staff, there has never been more need to ensure that your employees have the tools they require to do their job.

For employees aged 19 and over working in the automotive industry, there are opportunities to access funded support through the Government’s Train to Gain programme, which provides subsidised training to help employees gain their first Level 2 or 3 qualification.

Employees who do not hold a full level 2 qualification can receive full funding toward the the costs of a level 2 or 3 qualification.  Where the employee holds a level 2 qualification, the goverment will subsidise this training, drastically reducing the cost for the employer.

Train to Gain qualifications are available through the Institute of Motor Industry in:

  • Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (Light / Heavy Vehicle or Motor Cycle)
  • Vehicle Body & Paint Operations (Body Repair / Refinishing or MET)
  • Automotive Electrics
  • Transport Engineering & Maintenance (Bus & Coach)
  • Vehicle Fitting Operations (Fast-Fit / Specilist Tyre Fitter)
