If so, a career as a light vehicle technician might be perfect for you. As a light vehicle technician you will repair and maintain cars as well as light vans.
Your main tasks will include:

Using test instruments for verifying whether components function correctly |

Improving vehicle settings to optimise performance |
To become a light vehicle technician, you might be well advised to do an apprenticeship, where you would gain technical certificates designed to give you the knowledge and skill you need and an NVQ/SVQ in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair is available at levels 2 and 3 to prove your occupational competence. In addition you will also get your Key/Core Skills.
Some light vehicle technicians carry out MOT-tests as a part of their job. To do this, you have to be a qualified MOT Tester.
