Do you like working on the vehicle itself?
If so, a career as a specialist tyre fitter might be right for you. In this job, you get to deal with a large variety of vehicles, from cars through to commercial vehicles. As a specialist tyre fitter the actual ‘fitting of a tyre’ is only one part of the job.

Your other tasks will include:
• Informing and advising customers
• Checking tyres for defects
• Replacing tyres
• Wheel balancing and alignment
To become a fast-fit technician, you might be well advised to do an apprenticeship, where you would gain technical certificates designed to give you the knowledge and skill you need and an NVQ/SVQ in Vehicle Fitting is available at levels 1 and 2 to prove your occupational competence. In addition you will also get your Key or Core Skills.
