If so, a career as a vehicle body refinisher could be right for you. As a vehicle body refinisher you make the vehicle as good as new.
Your main tasks will include:
• Removing / covering parts not to be painted
• Identifying and fitting fissures
• Padding dents with special fillings
• Smoothing down vehicle surfaces
• Mixing colours to match the old paints
• Painting surfaces using spray equipment
• Sealing the surface
To become a Vehicle Body Refinisher, you might be well advised to do an apprenticeship, where you would gain technical certificates designed to give you the knowledge and skill you need and an NVQ/SVQ in Vehicle Body Repair and Refinishing is available at levels 2 and 3 to prove your occupational competence. In addition you will also get your Key/Core Skills.
