Do you enjoy working on the vehicle itself?
Do you like working in a team?

Why not pursue a career as a vehicle body repairer? As a vehicle body repairer you return vehicles to a roadworthy condition.

Your main tasks will include:

• Estimating body damage
• Removing, repairing / replacing damaged body components
• Using welding and soldering equipment
• Deciding on repair techniques
• Cleaning and preparing metal surfaces for painting

You may also help vehicle body builders to build custom-designed vehicles.

To become a Vehicle Body Repairer, you might be well advised to do an apprenticeship, where you would gain technical certificates designed to give you the knowledge and skill you need and an NVQ/SVQ in Vehicle Body Repair and Refinishing is available at levels 2 and 3 to prove your occupational competence. In addition you will also get your Key/Core Skills.
